Ancient Flood Narratives Are Not Evidence Against Genesis. They Are Evidence For It.
Skeptics have repeated the same line for almost two centuries. "Genesis borrowed from Gilgamesh." Jeremiah lovingly disagrees, and the evidence backs him up.
Anthropologists have catalogued more than 270 flood narratives from cultures all over the world. Sumer. China. India. Polynesia. The Americas. Sub-Saharan Africa. Tribes that never had contact with one another all carry the same memory. As Dr. Johnston put it, "When you find the same story in every corner of the world, that is not myth-making. That is shared history."
Genesis is the inspired, undistorted record. The rest are echoes carried down the centuries.

Mount Ararat, the Geology of the Genesis Flood, and the Search for the Ark
Genesis 8:4 puts the Ark on the mountains of Ararat in eastern Turkey. Jeremiah has spent years tracking the research at sites like Durupinar, where soil chemistry tests and dimensional measurements continue to draw the attention of serious investigators. He is the first to say that no single find settles the question. The bigger picture is what matters.
Sedimentary layers stretching across entire continents. Fossil graveyards on every landmass with animals buried fast and buried together. Marine fossils at the top of the Himalayas. These are not the calling cards of slow, gentle processes. They are the signature of exactly what Moses described in Genesis 7:11, when "the fountains of the great deep burst forth and the windows of the heavens were opened."
That is biblical archaeology and Genesis flood history meeting in the same place, with the same testimony.
Jesus Treated Noah as Real. So Did Peter. So Should We.
Genesis 6:8 contains one of the most beautiful sentences in the Bible. "But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord." There was one door in the side of the Ark. One way of rescue. One family carried through judgment so that the promise of Genesis 3:15, the Seed of the woman who would crush the serpent, could one day come.
That same pattern is fulfilled at Calvary. There is one door now. His name is Jesus Christ. The judgment fell on Him so that grace could fall on us. The Flood points forward to the cross, and the cross opens the way to the empty tomb. This is why Christian Thinkers Society proclaims Noah with the same confidence we proclaim the resurrection.
