Peace is one of the great themes of the Bible and occurs 651 times in Scripture (more than other key themes such as hope, grace, and even faith); and yet many Bible readers and seekers cannot access the immediate next steps to find and live in God’s peace today. Peace is present in the beginning of Genesis when God fellowships with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The Shalom of God is a personification of the New Heaven and New Earth at the culmination of Revelation when God renews the broken creation and cosmos, and His people take up their residence in His physical realm. When God reigns over a place and a people, it is a kingdom of peace and tranquility.
We were always meant to live in peace with God and with one another. From Genesis to Revelation, the story of the Bible is the story of peace lost and restored.
The Peace of God Bible invites you to experience the power of God’s peace in your life as you engage with God’s Word. Devotions guide you in meditating on this important theme of Scripture each day. Short notes offer powerful insights into the way God works out peace in your life as you read. Study lists invite you to apply the Bible’s teaching to specific areas of your life.
